DC asks Juvenile Justice Units to work in coordination for effective implementation of JJ Act

Poonch: National Development Foundation J&K Jammu in collaboration with District Police Poonch and with support from EU organized a one day training of special Juvenile Police unit, Dy SPs, SHOs, Juvenile police officers and investigating officers on child rights, child protection and juvenile justice Act 2015 and Model Rules 2016. Around 80 police officers attended the programmes.

Rahul Yadav, District Magistrate, Poonch inaugurated the training programme while Ramesh Angral Sr. Superintendent of Police Poonch, Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus National Development Foundation , Khalid Amin Addl. SP Poonch attended the programme as guests of honor. Pardeep Khanna conducted the proceedings of the inaugural session while Mr. Vikram Srivastava from “i-thought” Noida was Resource person. The programme started oath pledge taken by all the police officers. Rajiv Khajuria Found Emeritus NDF briefed the participants on the objectives of the training programme and gave a detailed accounts of child rights, child protection, procedures and functioning of Juvenile Justice system.

Ramesh Angral, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Poonch in his address discussed few case studies and expressed satisfaction that Poonch police deal with the cases of children in a child friendly manner.

Rahul Yadav, District Magistrate, Poonch appreciated the role of National Development Foundation, NDF in conduction of such important programmes in border and far flung district like Poonch. He congratulated the SSP Poonch for child friendly face of Poonch police. Sh. Yadav asked all stake holders like JJB, CWC, DCPU and Civil society to work in coordination with each other so that a safety net for the children works effectively. He assured the full cooperation of the District administration Poonch to NDF in all future programmes of Poonch.
