Samba police holds workshop on Juvenile Justice Act

SAMBA, January 21: Samba Police in collaboration with National Development Foundation (NDF) organized one day workshop on Juvenile Justices Act Care and Protection of Children at District Police Office here, today.

The workshop was attended by the gazetted officers, SHOs, incharge police posts and other non gazetted officers of Samba Police upto the rank of SIs. The aim of the workshop is to acquaint the police officers about the various provisions and procedures of Juvenile Justices Act (Care and Protection of Children).

The team of NDF headed by Rajiv Khajuria- Founder Emeritus NDF, Vikram Shrivastava- the resource person and Sunny Kumar, Manager NDF highlighted all the vital aspects of Act including general principles of Care and Protection of Children, Juvenile Justice Board, Procedure in Relation to Children in Conflict with Law, Child Welfare Committee, Rehabilitation and Social Re-Integration, Adoption etc.

During the programme, an interactive session was also held in which queries from the participants were well addressed by the speakers of NDF team. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba said that the aim of organizing such workshop is the need of hour to put in joint efforts and more collaboration to meet Juvenile Justice Act a reality in the field. All the stakeholders must work in close coordination so that the mandate of the Act is achieved on the ground. At the conclusion, SSP Samba presented a memento to each member of the NDF team as a vote of thanks for sparing their valuable time.
